Corporate History

The history of airPharma begins well before the company was officially created in 2002. airPharma is actually the result of over three decades in respiratory drug development and pharmaceutical product commercialization. Members of the airPharma management team have participated directly in the development of virtually every major respiratory product launched in the past twenty years, including category-leading products such as Salmeterol, Fluticasone and Formoterol. Prior to launching airPharma, two of the co-founders spent over a decade building IMTCI (now PRA) into one of the top five contract research companies in the world. IMTCI was widely known as a partner of choice for respiratory trials. In 1997, IMTCI was sold to the Carlyle portfolio company, PRA, a vehicle that Carlyle used as part of a roll-up of the CRO industry. airPharma intends to leverage the significant expertise of its management team in successfully designing and managing clinical trials for respiratory products.

airPharma intends to aggressively commercialize its products through specialty physician channels upon regulatory approval. The company's commercialization strength is derived from experienced management at the senior level, having launched major products such as: Nicoderm®, Anzemet®, and Silvadene®, with significant responsibility for allergy products such as Seldane® and Allegra®. Products such as Silvadene® were launched in specialty market segments. Some products were integrated into the primary sales force, others required building a specialty-focused sales group. airPharma's current commercialization plans are based on the proven sales strategies our team employed in these specialty market segments.
